The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Foundation has officially launched the Open Call for Promoters for World Table Tennis Day 2026 — and this year, the theme is particularly powerful: Health & Well-Being.
Why This Really Matters
Since its start in 2015, World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) has grown into a global celebration of table tennis, focusing less on competition and more on participation, unity, and joy. For 2026 (and 2027), the ITTF Foundation is spotlighting how table tennis can support healthier lives, stronger communities, and improved mental resilience.
This aligns closely with the One Humanity campaign’s mission: using sport to build bridges, promote inclusion, and improve well-being for everyone — whatever their background or ability.
What Is a WTTD Promoter?
Promoters are the heart of WTTD. They are not just event organizers — they are leaders for social change. According to ITTF Foundation:
- They help run local activities on April 23, World Table Tennis Day.
- They bring people together in their community via table tennis — events encouraged to be organised in community spaces such as youth centres, care homes, hospitals, or rehabilitation facilities.
- Promoters become part of a global network of changemakers, motivated by health, social connection, and community action.
Since 2021, over 150 promoters from more than 55 countries have joined the celebration — bringing together and inspiring tens of thousands of people through table tennis.

Why You Should Apply
If you:
- Are passionate about supporting mental and physical health in your community
- Believe in the power of sport to bring people together
- Want to network with like-minded change-makers around the world
…then applying to be a WTTD 2026 Promoter could be a meaningful way to make a real difference. Promoters help to host inclusive, fun events and elevate the role of table tennis as a health-promoting activity.

What Do You Get as a Promoter?
Selected Promoters may receive:
- Financial and logistical support to run their WTTD event.
- Guidance from ITTF Foundation on planning, communications, and capacity building.
- A platform to show how table tennis helps well-being and social cohesion in their communities.
How to Apply
Applications are open from 23 October to 23 November 2025. If you’re interested, you can apply directly through the ITTF Foundation’s website or reach out via email at info@foundation.ittf.com.
