Bringing together three fast-growing inclusive multisports, the UIPM 2025 Laser Run and Biathle-Triathle World Championships will unite nearly 900 athletes from 31 countries in Mossel Bay, South Africa. The event, taking place across the week, will highlight the strength of community, participation, and accessibility in sport.

For more than two decades, the Laser Run World Championships and Biathle-Triathle World Championships have become two of the most popular and accessible events in the Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) calendar. Their appeal lies in their simplicity, affordability, and ability to bring multisport into communities around the globe. From children discovering the joy of sport for the first time to Masters athletes continuing their lifelong journey, these competitions embody the inclusive spirit that defines UIPM.

Combining these urban and beach formats into a single global gathering reflects their shared mission: open, welcoming competitions that lower barriers and inspire participation for all ages and abilities. Since their inception in the 2010s, these multisports have introduced thousands of athletes, clubs, and nations to the UIPM movement.

South Africa, a dedicated host for global multisport events, will once again welcome the world. As a special recognition for athletes who compete across Laser Run, Biathle, and Triathle, organizers will award a unique three-part medal representing the African continent — a symbol of unity, perseverance, and connection.

UIPM President Rob Stull OLY shared a message of welcome:

“It is my great pleasure to welcome all athletes, coaches, officials, families and supporters to Mossel Bay for the combined UIPM 2025 Biathle-Triathle and Laser Run World Championships.

This event represents one of the most vibrant celebrations of our multisport community. Athletes of all ages and backgrounds come together here to grow, to challenge themselves, and to experience the unique spirit of Biathle, Triathle and Laser Run – three multisports that embody accessibility, opportunity and the joy of movement.

Mossel Bay, with its extraordinary coastline and rich history, provides the perfect backdrop for athletes to perform at their best and create lifelong memories. South Africa has always been a valued member of the UIPM family, and we are deeply grateful for their dedication and partnership.

To all athletes: compete with respect, courage and determination. Enjoy every moment. These championships are not only about medals – they are about discovery, connection and dreaming big.

We wish you an extraordinary World Championships in Mossel Bay.”
