The One Humanity Match for Peace and Inclusion took place on November 27, 2024, during the final day of the 10th UNAOC (United Nations Alliance of Civilizations) Global Forum. The match brought together prominent athletes from diverse sports and backgrounds, showcasing the unifying power of sports as a platform to promote peace, diversity, and inclusion.
The event featured a star-studded lineup of participants, including legendary footballers Pepe and Éder, basketball icon Berni Rodríguez, judo champion Nuno Delgado, sailor Sara Carmo, Paralympic swimmers Diogo Cancela and Leila Marques, and footballers Carolina Mendes, among others. Their participation underscored the universality of sports and its ability to transcend boundaries, foster solidarity, and bridge cultural divides.
Held in collaboration with the República Portuguesa and the Portuguese Football Federation, the One Humanity Match celebrated global unity and reaffirmed the forum’s theme of “United in Peace.” Through this initiative, UNAOC highlighted the importance of leveraging sports as a powerful tool for diplomacy, dialogue, and community building.
