The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and the International Table Volleyball Federation (ITVF) proudly announce their first social activity in Spain. This initiative marks the beginning of a robust collaboration between the two entities as part of the “Sport for One Humanity” campaign, which seeks to foster mutual understanding and celebrate diversity through the unifying power of sports.

In this landmark event, professional Italian volleyball players Ivan Zaytsev and Michele Baranowicz joined forces to introduce the fundamentals of table volleyball to members of CEAR (the Spanish Committee Help for the Refugee). Participants included refugees from Mali, Gambia, and Senegal, all of whom experienced the joy and camaraderie that sports bring into our lives. This event highlighted the core values of happiness, unity, and equality without boundaries.

“Sport has the unique ability to bring people together, transcending cultural and social barriers,” said István Döbrei, Secretary-General of the International Table Volleyball Federation (ITVF). “Today, we shared not just the techniques of table volleyball but also the essence of what sports stand for: joy, inclusivity, and equality.”

Michele Baranowicz added, “Engaging with the CEAR community and seeing their enthusiasm for learning and participating in table volleyball was incredibly rewarding. It’s a testament to how sports can create a sense of belonging and togetherness.”

The “Sport for One Humanity” campaign aims to leverage the universal appeal of sports to promote inclusivity, respect for human rights, and positive social change. By partnering with global sports bodies and institutions, the campaign advocates for a more equitable and peaceful world through sports.

“We are thrilled to embark on this journey with TEQVOLY™️ and our esteemed ambassadors, Ivan Zaytsev and Michele Baranowicz,” said Miguel Ángel Moratinos, High representative of UNAOC. “Today’s event is just the beginning of what we hope will be a long and fruitful collaboration to promote sports as a tool for inclusion and unity.”
