The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) has joined forces with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) to promote the organisation’s #OneHumanity campaign. As a sport that aims to be open to all, the teqball family is delighted to support the UNAOC’s call for solidarity, compassion and unity in the face of discrimination and divisiveness.
Through #OneHumanity, the UNAOC wants to advance understanding, cooperation and dialogue among nations and across all cultures. The UNAOC, which was established in 2005 under the leadership of United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, has recognised the ability of sport to help promote diversity and bring about positive social change. As an organisation with over 110 National Teqball Federations, FITEQ will look to use its global platform to support the UNAOC’s effort.
FITEQ will run a social media campaign to share the #OneHumanity message with its 4+ million followers. FITEQ will also create dedicated education materials and courses for its National Federations, athletes, coaches, officials and fans, which will be delivered at FITEQ events and during other initiatives such as the Teqball Roadshow.
FITEQ Head of CSR and Diplomatic Relations Gergely Murányi said, “We are proud to team up with the UNAOC on this critically important campaign. Sport unifies the world by bringing people from different nations, cultures, religions and backgrounds together through a shared passion. There are very few things that can do this so effectively. At FITEQ, we understand the power of sport in fostering peace and understanding and we embrace our role as the leaders of teqball in this regard. Promoting equal opportunity has always been one of our key objectives and our recently launched Table of Peace global CSR programme is helping us on this journey. Working in partnership with the UNAOC will not only allow us to support their amazing work, it will also teach us valuable lessons and principles that we can apply to our own campaigns.”
FITEQ joins the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), of which it is a member, and a number of other International Federations that have pledged their commitment to the #OneHumanity campaign.
